Islamabad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif embarked on a significant five-day visit to China, starting in Shenzhen, to advance strategic and economic ties under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative. Accompanied by key cabinet members, including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and several other ministers, Sharif’s visit marks a pivotal moment in furthering the partnership between the two nations.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister’s delegation includes figures such as the Defence Minister, the Minister for Planning and Development, the Finance Minister, the Minister for Petroleum, and the Minister for Information and Broadcasting. This high-level group reflects the comprehensive scope of discussions anticipated during the visit, which will cover areas such as trade, investment, defence, and more.
In Shenzhen, Sharif will participate in the Pak-China Business Forum and visit key installations like the Nanshan One Window and the Huawei company headquarters to observe advancements in technology and business operations. The visit will also include meetings with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang in Beijing, where they will oversee the signing of multiple memorandums of understanding.
The trip will conclude in Xi’an, where Sharif will meet with senior Chinese leadership and explore agricultural development models through visits to model farms and green technology companies. These discussions are expected to enhance bilateral relations and expand cooperation in various sectors including energy, science and technology, education, and culture.
