PM Shehbaz Inaugurates Development Projects in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Gilgit: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has inaugurated several key projects in Gilgit-Baltistan aimed at fostering the region’s development and progress. The inaugural ceremony took place in Gilgit, where a series of completed projects were officially launched.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the projects inaugurated by Prime Minister Shehbaz include the Naltar Expressway, the construction of an Engineering Block at the Karakoram International University, the construction of the Baltistan University project, and the provision of high-speed internet throughout Gilgit-Baltistan. These initiatives are expected to enhance connectivity and educational infrastructure within the region.

Additionally, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for several other projects, including the Attabad Lake Hydro Project, the Harpo Hydro Project, the establishment of a regional grid station, and the Greater Water Supply Hunza Project. These projects signify a commitment to improving the energy and water supply infrastructure in the area.

In his address to the media, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed optimism that the completion of these mega development projects will herald a new era of prosperity for Gilgit-Baltistan. He emphasized the need to equip the youth with IT skills, noting that there are significant opportunities for skilled workers in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries.

The Prime Minister also reiterated his commitment to promoting tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan, aiming to bring further prosperity to the region. He acknowledged the heroic struggle and sacrifices made by the people of Gilgit-Baltistan for their freedom from Dogra rule, assuring that their sacrifices would not be in vain and would contribute to making Pakistan a great nation.
