ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has assured Iranian leadership of Pakistan’s continued constructive role in fostering regional peace, as tensions persist in the Gulf. During a recent telephonic conversation with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at reducing hostilities.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister expressed serious concern over the escalating hostilities in the Gulf. He emphasized the urgent need for collective action to de-escalate the situation and urged a return to dialogue and diplomacy among neighboring countries. Sharif underlined the importance of unity within the Ummah, stressing that it is more critical now than ever.
Prime Minister Sharif conveyed Pakistan’s solidarity with Iran, expressing condolences for the loss of lives and extending prayers for the recovery and safety of those affected by the conflict. He also extended Eid-ul-Fitr and Nowruz greetings to the Iranian President and the people of Iran, which were reciprocated by President Pezeshkian with best wishes for Pakistan.
