PM Sharif Visits Chinese Embassy to Offer Condolences After Besham Attack


Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif made a solemn visit to the Chinese embassy in Islamabad to extend his and the Pakistani nation’s condolences to Ambassador Jiang Zaidong for the loss of five Chinese citizens in the recent terror attack in Besham. This gesture underscores the deep ties between Pakistan and China, highlighting the shared grief and solidarity in the face of tragedy.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during his visit, Prime Minister Sharif expressed the collective sympathies of the Pakistani people to the families of the deceased Chinese nationals. He assured a swift and high-level investigation into the incident, committing to bring the perpetrators to justice. The Prime Minister also conveyed a message of condolence to the Chinese leadership, including President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang, emphasizing the unbreakable bond between the two nations.



Sharif firmly declared that Pakistan would not allow such heinous attempts to damage the Pak-China friendship or the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. He attributed the attack to enemies of CPEC, vowing that their attempts to derail the monumental project would not succeed.



The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to continue its fight against terrorism until its complete eradication. His visit, accompanied by Federal Ministers Attaullah Tarar, Ishaq Dar, Mohsin Naqvi, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, is a testament to the high priority the Pakistani government places on its relations with China and the safety of Chinese nationals within its borders.
