PM Sharif Targets $7 Billion in Agricultural Exports, Highlights Initiatives at Food Expo

Karachi: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif unveiled ambitious targets for Pakistan’s agriculture sector during the 2nd International Food and Agriculture Exhibition. Sharif announced plans to increase agricultural exports from over three billion dollars to seven billion dollars and discussed various government initiatives aimed at boosting farmer support and agricultural productivity.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Sharif detailed the government’s efforts to enhance the agriculture sector, including transitioning eighteen thousand tube-wells in Balochistan to solar power and facilitating easy loans for rural farmers. These measures are part of a broader strategy to increase agricultural production and export capacity.

During the event, the Prime Minister also recognized the contributions of leading agriculture exporters by distributing awards for outstanding achievements. These initiatives underscore the government’s commitment to transforming Pakistan’s agricultural landscape and achieving its targeted export goals.
