PM Sharif Sanctions Rs 23 Billion Additional Grant for Azad Jammu and Kashmir Government


Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved an additional grant of twenty-three billion rupees to the Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, aimed at supporting the region’s development in what is described as the national interest. This decision was made during a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet, chaired by Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the committee approved a summary for the provision of funds through a Technical Supplementary Grant as proposed by the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan. The meeting saw participation from key cabinet members, including Power Minister Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain, Petroleum Minister Musadik Masood Malik, and Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan.
