Islamabad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has articulated a clear vision for Pakistan’s economic future, emphasizing his government’s commitment to enhancing trade, fostering economic partnerships, and attracting foreign investment. This commitment was voiced during an Inter-Faith Iftar Dinner held in Islamabad, honoring foreign ambassadors and High Commissioners, where the Prime Minister outlined the pivotal elements of his administration’s agenda: economic revival, governance reforms, and the upliftment of the Pakistani populace.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed the constitutional guarantee of equal human rights for all citizens of Pakistan, highlighting the government’s dedication to translating these rights into tangible realities through various policies, legal frameworks, and affirmative actions. He expressed a firm resolve towards achieving accelerated development, stating that no effort would be spared in mobilizing national potential to alter Pakistan’s economic direction positively.
The Prime Minister emphasized that there would be no compromise on Pakistan’s core national interests, including the safety and security of its people, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He underscored Pakistan’s role as a responsible member of the international community, committed to contributing towards regional and global peace and sustainable development.
Addressing the situation in Gaza, Sharif welcomed the UN Security Council’s demand for an immediate ceasefire and called for the resolution’s swift implementation. He condemned the brutalities against Palestinians, reaffirming Pakistan’s support for their right to self-determination, and echoed Pakistan’s solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Prime Minister Sharif also touched upon the significance of Ramadan, highlighting the month’s message of harmony, peace, and tolerance, as well as its emphasis on interfaith respect and the importance of caring and sharing. He concluded by stating that the Iftar Dinner event mirrored Pakistan’s cultural values and the promotion of interfaith harmony, resonating with the spirit of Ramadan.
