PM Sharif Encourages Turkmen Investment in Pakistan, Highlights Regional Connectivity

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for increased investment from Turkmen companies in Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of regional cooperation and connectivity. His comments came during a meeting with Rasit Meredow, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Sharif highlighted the promising investment climate in Pakistan and the supportive role of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in encouraging foreign investment in various sectors. He stressed the significance of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) pipeline project, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to its early completion.

The Prime Minister also expressed his satisfaction with the successful conduct of the third round of Pakistan-Turkmenistan Bilateral Political Consultations, emphasizing the need for regular institutional engagements between the two nations to enhance trade, economic, investment, and cultural relations.

Reflecting on international relations, Sharif recalled his recent meeting with Turkmenistan’s Grand Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Astana and expressed eagerness to host him in Pakistan soon, underscoring the deepening bilateral ties between the two countries.
