Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has unveiled the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund (PEEF), a new initiative aimed at supporting higher education for children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. This announcement came during a meeting with Israr Khan Kakar, the newly elected President of the Oxford Union.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted that the PEEF will include a twenty percent quota specifically for the youth of Balochistan, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring educational opportunities for underrepresented regions. The Prime Minister praised Israr Khan Kakar, stating that his achievements, such as becoming the President of the Oxford Union, demonstrate the potential and determination of Pakistani youth. Sharif expressed his belief that talented individuals like Kakar are crucial for the sustainable and prosperous future of Pakistan and will continue to elevate the country’s profile internationally.
Kakar, in return, invited the Prime Minister to speak at the Oxford Union and expressed gratitude for the government’s efforts to empower the youth by providing equitable developmental opportunities.
