ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Qatar’s Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, engaged in a telephone conversation to discuss regional peace and the importance of dialogue. The Prime Minister emphasized Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach and its commitment to peace efforts, expressing concern over ongoing hostilities in the region and condemning attacks on Qatar and other Gulf countries.
According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif conveyed his condolences for the loss of lives in the recent attacks and assured the Qatari Amir of Pakistan’s solidarity and support. Sharif also commended Qatar’s restraint amidst the hostilities and reiterated Pakistan’s call for de-escalation and dialogue among all parties involved.
The Amir of Qatar expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives and agreed with Prime Minister Sharif to maintain close communication in the coming days. The conversation also included the exchange of Eid ul Fitr greetings, with both leaders sharing prayers for peace, stability, and prosperity for their nations and the broader Muslim community.
In a social media post, Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with Qatar during challenging times and highlighted the mutual agreement on the urgency of advancing peace efforts and promoting dialogue to achieve regional stability.
