PM Orders Intensified Flood Relief, Enhanced Warning Systems


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday ordered the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to bolster collaboration with provincial administrations for efficient relief and recovery of those impacted by recent floods and downpours. During a briefing with NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, the Prime Minister received updates on current relief work and contingency plans for possible crises, a Prime Minister’s Office press release stated.



The Prime Minister reviewed the advancement of early warning enhancements and stressed the urgent need for the advanced notification system in Gilgit-Baltistan to become fully functional, emphasizing close cooperation between the NDMA and the Ministry of Climate Change. He highlighted the importance of providing residents in at-risk zones with prompt alerts to mitigate dangers during severe weather.



The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s dedication to guaranteeing rapid aid and restoration for all affected populations.
