PM Launches 1,200 Mobile Units to Ensure Access to Ramadan Relief Package


Islamabad, In a significant move to facilitate citizens during the holy month of Ramadan, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has overseen the rollout of 1,200 mobile units designed to distribute essential commodities at subsidized rates. This initiative is part of the Prime Minister’s Ramadan Relief Package, aimed at alleviating the financial burden on the populace.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a surprise visit to various Utility Stores in Islamabad, Prime Minister Sharif inspected the distribution mechanisms of the relief package and interacted with beneficiaries to understand any difficulties they might be facing. He emphasized the importance of ensuring a smooth distribution process, directing relevant authorities to mitigate any issues promptly.



The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the arrangements at the utility stores, noting the adequate availability of essential items at reduced prices. He highlighted the establishment of mobile units as a strategic measure to extend the reach of the relief efforts, ensuring that more people could benefit from subsidized rates.



Furthermore, Prime Minister Sharif mentioned the formation of teams to monitor the availability and quality of essential commodities, ensuring comprehensive supervision of the Ramadan package, which is valued at twelve billion rupees. He also announced an increase in the cash stipend for Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) beneficiaries to ten thousand rupees for Ramadan, with an additional two thousand rupees being provided to those receiving assistance under the Kafalat program in Balochistan, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan.



This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to supporting its citizens through targeted relief measures, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
