PM KAKAR HAILS CPEC AS PIVOTAL OPPORTUNITY FOR PAKISTAN’S GROWTH

ISLAMABAD, Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has acclaimed the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a seminal opportunity for the nation, emphasizing Pakistan’s intent to concentrate on the project’s subsequent phase for accelerated economic and industrial progression.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister underscored that the CPEC, an integral component of China’s Belt and Road Initiative, has propelled Pakistan towards significant advancements across various sectors. He highlighted the immense potential for bilateral cooperation, especially in trade and tourism, between China’s Urumqi and Pakistan’s northern Gilgit-Baltistan. With CPEC projects also encompassing Balochistan, Pakistan anticipates an upsurge in economic activities and a tourist influx.

PM Kakar emphasized the broader regional impact of the Belt and Road Initiative, predicting an expansion beyond Pakistan with the development of comprehensive rail and road networks. Addressing collaboration with China in green energy solutions for climate change mitigation, the Prime Minister recognized Pakistan’s vulnerability to natural disasters. Commenting on the international perception of China’s ascension, he asserted that cooperation, not containment, is the optimal approach for engaging with the emerging power.
