ISLAMABAD, Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar has articulated his belief that Chinese private sector involvement, particularly in the second phase of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, will significantly uplift Pakistan’s economy. The envisioned collaboration entails the relocation of industries and bolstered cooperation in agricultural and mining domains.
According to a new release by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a press conference centered around his recent official trip to China, PM Kakar highlighted the potential economic benefits stemming from the expected Chinese investments. Reflecting on his dialogue with Chinese authorities, the Prime Minister described the conversations as constructive and beneficial. He emphasized the “ironclad friendship” and “all weather strategic partnership” that underpin Pakistan-China relations. The desire, he indicated, is mutual in strengthening and deepening this bond.
Returning from China, PM Kakar spotlighted the trip’s guiding principles: “consultation, cooperation, and coordination.” Commitment to these tenets, he asserted, will further extend bilateral cooperation. The visit to Beijing was marked by the signing of twenty agreements – a significant leap in the number of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) concluded in recent years. Additionally, PM Kakar noted the establishment of a mechanism aimed at ensuring diligent execution of both the newly-signed agreements and those previously inked.
The Prime Minister also pointed to the abundant prospects for enhanced collaboration between the media sectors of the two nations, anticipating mutual benefits from such partnerships.
