PM Kakar Asserts Kashmir’s Independence from India, Calls for Plebiscite

Muzaffarabad, Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has unequivocally stated that Kashmir has never been a part of India and will never be, emphasizing the need for a plebiscite in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions to resolve the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

According to Kashmir Media Service, PM Kakar, while addressing a news conference in Muzaffarabad on Friday, asserted that the resolution of the Kashmir issue cannot be determined by any Indian court or assembly. He stressed that the only viable solution lies in a plebiscite, as per the UN resolutions.

The Prime Minister highlighted that India’s unilateral actions in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have intensified the Kashmiris’ struggle for freedom. He observed that the international community has not accepted India’s stance on Kashmir.

Paying tribute to the sacrifices made by the Kashmiri people, PM Kakar remarked that India’s efforts to suppress the Kashmiri cause for self-determination will not succeed. He expressed solidarity with the residents of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, considering them as potential citizens of Pakistan and vowing to protect their rights.

PM Kakar also referred to his recent meeting with Kashmiri leadership in Muzaffarabad, where it was decided to hold another round of discussions in Islamabad. He emphasized the importance of maintaining regular contact with Kashmiri leaders to effectively present their stance on the global stage. He affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to advocating for the rights of the Kashmiri people at every international forum.
