Islamabad, December 24, 2021 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Imran Khan has welcomed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s remarks in which he had said that blasphemy of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) doesn’t count as the expression of artistic freedom.
In a tweet on Friday, the Prime Minister urged the Muslim leaders to the spread this message to leaders of the non-Muslim world to counter Islamophobia. Meanwhile, in a tweet, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said it is the efforts of Prime Minister Imran Khan that an international leader like Vladimir Putin is presenting his opinion candidly.
Earlier, in his annual news conference Russian President Vladimir Putin said blasphemy of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) does not count as the expression of artistic freedom. He said passing derogatory remarks for the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) are a violation of religious freedom and the violation of the sacred feelings of people who profess Islam.
