Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has issued a strong condemnation of what he described as Afghanistan’s provocation along Pakistan’s border areas. In a statement, the Prime Minister praised the Pakistani Army for its decisive and robust response to the situation.
The Prime Minister highlighted the professional capabilities of the Pakistan Army. Under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the army not only responded effectively to the Afghan actions but also dismantled several posts, prompting a retreat.
Reiterating Pakistan’s stance on defense, Sharif emphasized that any provocation will be met with a decisive response. He assured that the nation’s defense remains uncompromised, and the entire nation stands firmly with its security forces.
Sharif recalled prior instances where Pakistan shared intelligence with Afghanistan regarding terrorist elements such as Fitna-al-Khwarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan, which have allegedly launched attacks from Afghan territory.
He expressed expectations that the interim Afghan government would prevent its territory from being used by these groups against Pakistan. The Prime Minister’s remarks underline ongoing regional tensions and the importance of bilateral cooperation in addressing security concerns.
