Islamabad, April 20, 2023 (PPI-OT): The ruling coalition parties have reiterated that they believe in the constitution, democracy and the people’s constitutional right of vote and have full conviction on holding elections in the country. These views were expressed during a high-level consultative meeting of the ruling alliance, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, which discussed the country’s overall situation and the future strategy on constitutional and legal matters.
However, the coalition parties were of the view that all those requirements of elections should be ensured, due to which the election results are acceptable to all political parties and the country do not face the situation of any political instability.
It was unanimously decided to convene a meeting of the leaders of ruling alliance after Eid-ul-Fitr, in order to take the ongoing national process of consultation with all political parties within and outside the Parliament to the next stage and reach a consensus. The meeting highlighted that right from the offer of the charter of economy to every stage till now, the coalition government has expressed its willingness for a serious and meaningful dialogue within the constitutional parameters.
