PM Anwaar ul Haq Kakar Commits to Revitalizing Hockey in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar, in a bid to reinvigorate hockey’s stature in Pakistan, has pledged to harness all available resources to restore the sport to its erstwhile prominence. He conveyed this resolve during the concluding ceremony of the 67th National Senior Hockey Championship held in Islamabad.

According to a new release by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the ceremony, spearheaded by the Army Welfare Trust, was a significant platform for Mr. Kakar to outline his vision for hockey’s resurgence in the nation. Highlighting a potential roadmap, the Prime Minister proposed that, similar to cricket, hockey super leagues be organized at regional tiers. Emphasizing the role of media in this revival, he directed the national television to prioritize hockey promotion by collaborating with renowned figures from the sport.

In his closing remarks, the Prime Minister appealed to the hockey athletes, encouraging them to uphold their fervor for the game. He urged them to draw inspiration from Pakistan’s illustrious hockey legends, emphasizing the importance of rejuvenating the national sport’s legacy.
