ANTALYA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised US President Donald Trump for his leadership in achieving a ceasefire in Lebanon, while also discussing ways to deepen Pakistan-US engagement on shared priorities, such as counter-terrorism and economic development.

According to Radio Pakistan, this sentiment was expressed during a meeting between Prime Minister Sharif and Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to the US President for Arab and African Affairs, at the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkiye. Boulos conveyed President Trump’s greetings and acknowledged Pakistan’s contributions to regional stability.

In the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif extended his regards to President Trump, recalling positive interactions in the past. He highlighted Trump’s leadership in facilitating a ceasefire between Pakistan and India last year, which helped avert potential conflict. The discussion also covered regional developments, Pakistan’s peace efforts, and the historic Islamabad Talks, underscoring the need for strengthened bilateral relations, particularly in economic and trade cooperation.
