Pishin: In a recent statement, the District Education Officer Muhammad Zaman Tareen emphasized the importance of education as a fundamental right and the need for improved educational facilities, particularly in the remote rural areas of the district. The statement detailed a series of stringent actions to be taken against non-performing teachers and measures to enhance overall educational standards.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Tareen’s announcement came during a discussion on the current state and future of education in the district. He highlighted the significant roles of Deputy Commissioner Zahid Khan and Commissioner Hamza Shafqat in spearheading serious improvements in educational institutions. Their collective efforts focus on the belief that education is crucial for national development.
The statement outlined specific measures to address the issue of teacher absenteeism, which has been a persistent problem affecting the quality of education. The district plans to take strict action against habitually absent teachers, including stopping their salaries and issuing show cause notices. Further steps would involve dismissing those who continue to be absent under the provided authority.
Tareen also mentioned the successful implementation of the Real Time School Monitoring (RTSM) system, expressing satisfaction with its performance. He instructed that timely legal actions should be initiated against absent teaching and non-teaching staff to revive inactive schools within the district ahead of schedule.
Moreover, the District Education Officer disclosed plans for reopening closed schools and appointing necessary teaching staff. He urged all education officers to cooperate and support these initiatives to ensure comprehensive coverage of the education system across the district. He stressed the importance of teachers performing their duties diligently, maintaining regular attendance, and avoiding absences to prevent strict disciplinary actions.
This series of measures reflects a robust approach to revitalize the educational landscape in Pishin, aiming to ensure that future generations are well-equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to society.
