Islamabad, Caretaker Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Solangi has confirmed that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is included in the government’s privatization list. Responding to a calling attention notice in the Senate, he revealed that the privatization plan was devised by the previous government and is being implemented by the caretaker government.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Solangi stated that efforts have been made to revive PIA’s halted flight operations by arranging necessary funds. He acknowledged that the challenges facing PIA span multiple successive governments and suggested a detailed discussion on the national flag carrier involving the Ministers for Aviation and Privatization.
