Peshawar Squash Champion Mah Noor Ali Honored by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government


Peshawar, In a commendable achievement for Pakistan, Mah Noor Ali, who clinched the gold medal at the Women’s England Squash Junior Open Championship, was honored in Peshawar on Monday. Alongside her parents, the squash prodigy met with the Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sports and Youth Affairs, Syed Fakhr Jahan, at his Civil Secretariat office to discuss her triumph and the promotion of squash in the province.



According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mah Noor Ali, a native of Peshawar, has amassed 9 gold medals over her career in various prestigious competitions, including the Asian Junior Championship in Malaysia and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Junior Squash Championship. Her victory in the England Junior Squash World Cup marked a historic first for any Pakistani in the tournament’s 75-year history, especially notable for her win against an Indian player in the finals. During the meeting, discussions focused on enhancing squash facilities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and support for players in international competitions. Mah Noor requested additional support from the provincial government for athletes representing Pakistan on global stages.



Syed Fakhr Jahan lauded Mah Noor’s contributions to the sport and her role as an ambassador for squash, highlighting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s rich legacy in producing world-class squash champions. The Advisor assured full support and assistance from the provincial government to nurture and promote talent in the sport, recognizing Mah Noor Ali and her family’s contribution to the nation and the province’s sports heritage.
