Peshawar, The Regional Tax Office (RTO) in Peshawar has accomplished a monumental feat by seizing the largest quantity of non-duty/non-TTS cigarettes in its history. The Inland Revenue Enforcement Network (IREN) team, operating under the RTO Peshawar, conducted a raid at a godown situated in Yar Hussain, Swabi, resulting in the confiscation of 1,869 Packerites, equivalent to a staggering 18,690,000 sticks of various cigarette brands. This seizure holds an estimated market value of approximately PKR 162,603,000/- (162.6 Million). The commendable action was acknowledged by Chairman Federal Board of Revenue, Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana, and Member Inland Revenue (Operations), Mir Badshah Khan Wazir, who lauded the historical achievement and timely intervention by the RTO Peshawar.
According to Press Information Department, the operation marks a significant milestone in the efforts of the Regional Tax Office, Peshawar, to curb illicit activities and enforce taxation regulations within its jurisdiction.
