Peshawar, At the annual prize distribution ceremony of the Special Education Complex Hayatabad, Adviser to Chief Minister, Mashal Azam Yousafzai, outlined significant government initiatives for special education and women empowerment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Plans include establishing separate directorates for special education and women empowerment and increasing employment quotas for disabled individuals.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Yousafzai announced the government’s intent to enhance the fixed quota for disabled people in government jobs to ten percent and to set stipends for students in special education institutes. During the ceremony, Yousafzai distributed prizes and shields to outstanding students and praised the efforts of parents in supporting their children’s education and integration into society.
The event also showcased the talents of special education students through various performances, highlighting the achievements and skills developed within the region’s 57 special education institutions. Yousafzai’s visit to the complex included an inspection of stalls displaying items crafted by the students, further emphasizing the administration’s support for empowering these individuals through educational and creative avenues.
