Srinagar, May 12, 2023 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, people staged protests against BJP-RSS collaborator and Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari in Srinagar for hurting their religious sentiments and trying to create sectarian tension in the territory. The protests came a day after a video of Altaf Bukhari targeting the members of Shia community went viral on social media.

The protesters comprising both Shia and Sunni communities gathered in Srinagar’s Pantha Chowk and Zadibal areas, calling for stern punishment of Bukhari for his sacrilegious remarks. During the protests, the demonstrators burned the effigies of Altaf Bukhari and demanded harsh punishment for offending their religious feelings. They said Altaf Bukhari has hurt the sentiments of not only the followers of the Shia faith but the entire Muslim community. The protesters maintained that his utterances were unacceptable and would not be tolerated. They demanded that the police should book Bukhari as he tried to create communal tension by targeting a particular community.

Meanwhile, the Shia community in a statement lashed out at Altaf Bukhari for his filthy remarks, adding that he had done so earlier as well. They said he is acting on the advice of his masters in New Delhi with the aim to create sectarian discord within the Kashmiris who are engaged in struggle for their right to self-determination. They pointed out that those siding with BJP-RSS in IIOJK will meet the same fate as erstwhile traitors like Mir Jafars and Mir Sadiqs.
