Peace of South Asia Hinges on Resolution of Kashmir Issue, Says Pakistan’s Foreign Office


Islamabad: The peace of South Asia is contingent upon the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, emphasized a spokesperson from Pakistan’s Foreign Office on Wednesday. The statement reiterates Pakistan’s longstanding position that dialogue with India must address this core issue to ensure regional stability.



According to Kashmir Media Service, the Foreign Office spokesperson declared, “Pakistan is ready to provide full support as a responsible country within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).” The spokesperson highlighted that Pakistan has put forward several initiatives aimed at addressing the longstanding dispute over Jammu and Kashmir.



Further, the spokesperson noted that details regarding Pakistan’s representation at the upcoming United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session and the UN Future Summit would be disclosed shortly. Reinforcing a consistent stance, the spokesperson said, “Pakistan has always supported the right of self-determination for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”



Additionally, the Prime Minister of Pakistan has extended invitations to the heads of the SCO member states, underscoring Pakistan’s dedication to regional cooperation and dialogue.
