Lahore, The Planning and Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved six development schemes in various sectors including Public Building, Irrigation, Health, and Women Development, amounting to an estimated cost of Rs 15434.374 million. This decision was made in the 27th meeting of the current financial year 2023-24, chaired by Chairman P&D Board, Mr. Iftikhar Ali Sahoo.
According to Planning and Development Board, the meeting saw the presence of Secretary P&D Board, Mr. Muzaffar Khan Sial, along with other board members, provincial secretaries of concerned departments, and senior representatives from relevant provincial departments. The approved schemes include projects aimed at addressing river erosion, water resource development, healthcare improvements, and infrastructure for women’s development.
The key schemes approved are:
1. Protection against the erosion action of the River Chenab in District Hafizabad at a cost of Rs 488.687 million.
2. Consultancy services for updating feasibility studies and detailed engineering design for water resources development in Cholistan, valued at Rs 186.184 million.
3. Provision of missing specialties for the upgrade of DHQ Hospital to a Teaching Hospital in Gujranwala, costing Rs 8918 million.
4. Establishment of the Fatima Jinnah Institute of Dental Sciences in Jubilee Town, Lahore, at Rs 4662 million.
5. Construction of the Women Development Office Complex in Sabzazar, Lahore, with an investment of Rs 698.227 million.
6. Construction of a Multi-Purpose Complex in Jubilee Town, Lahore, at Rs 481.276 million.
These initiatives represent a significant investment in infrastructure and public services, reflecting the government’s commitment to diversified development across different sectors.
