PDMA Director General Reviews Monsoon Preparedness in Asta Muhammad

Asta Muhammad: During a recent visit to the district of Asta Muhammad, Director General of Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Jahanzeb Khan, evaluated local readiness measures for the upcoming monsoon season. The visit focused on assessing the infrastructure and emergency protocols in place to mitigate potential rain-induced damages.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, DG Khan examined the preparedness steps taken by the district administration, including enhancements to the rain drainage systems and the embankments of Kirtharkanal and its subsidiary branches. During his review, district heads provided individual briefings on their specific monsoon readiness initiatives.

Emphasizing the importance of proactive measures, DG Khan directed all district officers to ensure that their machinery and resources are primed for any emergency situation. He also stressed the need for adequate medical supplies, instructing the District Health Officer and Medical Superintendent to update and verify their stocks as per requirements.

Further underscoring his commitment to thorough preparedness, DG Khan inspected the canal systems, flood passages, and overall drainage infrastructure, confirming plans for their maintenance and improvement. The visit underscored the provincial government’s focus on protective measures to safeguard residents against potential seasonal challenges.
