Islamabad: The Pakistan Chemicals Manufacturers Association (PCMA), led by Chairman Haroon Ali Khan, met with Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan to address pressing industry concerns. The talks focused on the misuse of the Export Facilitation Scheme (EFS), the need for stakeholder consultations on the tariff policy, and the impact of anti-dumping duties on domestic producers.

According to a statement by Press Information Department, the PCMA delegation included key industry figures such as Ismail Suttar, CEO of Hub Salt; Mohsin Zia, CEO of Descon Oxychem; and Rao Mubeen Ahmed of Engro Polymer and Chemicals. The group emphasized the necessity of auditing the EFS to prevent its misuse and ensure fair competition.

The delegation highlighted the challenges faced by domestic producers due to anti-dumping duties on products covered under the EFS. They argued for a parity of price to protect local industries and enhance competitiveness.

Minister Jam Kamal Khan assured the PCMA of the government’s full support. He reiterated his commitment to resolving these issues and fostering an environment conducive to trade growth, promising to consider the concerns raised during the meeting.
