PayPal Set to Launch Services in Pakistan, Announces IT Minister

Islamabad, The Pakistani government has given the green light for the launch of PayPal services in the country, addressing a long-standing demand of freelancers for a reliable remittance platform.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Caretaker Minister for Information Technology and Communication, Dr. Umar Saif, announced in a video statement that PayPal, a leading international company, will soon facilitate freelancers in Pakistan to receive remittances through digital transactions.

Additionally, Dr. Saif revealed that the government has approved the National Space Policy, which will allow private sector companies to use low orbit satellites for communication services in Pakistan. This move is expected to enhance the country’s communication infrastructure.

Furthermore, the Minister mentioned the government’s plan to launch the Pakistan Startup Fund, with an allocation of two billion rupees, aimed at fostering a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem and encouraging the youth in their business endeavors.
