Patients Suffer as Hospital in IIOJK Lacks Electricity

Srinagar: The Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in the Kokernag area of the Islamabad district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir is grappling with a severe power outage, causing significant distress to patients and hospital staff. The lack of a proper electricity backup system has exacerbated the situation.

According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, the hospital is without a reliable backup power source, leaving medical staff and patients in a challenging position. The backup generator takes nearly an hour to activate after a power failure, resulting in a temporary cessation of essential machinery and hospital operations.

“This often happens at the hospital, and the backup takes too long to start,” said one of the hospital employees, expressing frustration over frequent power disruptions.

The delays in restoring power have drawn increasing criticism from visitors, who have raised concerns about the adverse impact on patient care.
