Pashupati Paras Steps Down from Cabinet, Protests BJP’s Treatment

New Delhi, In a significant political development, Pashupati Kumar Paras, a cabinet minister in the BJP-led government, has resigned, citing grievances over the treatment of his party, the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP), in the recent Lok Sabha seat-sharing arrangement in Bihar.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Paras’s resignation came in the wake of the seat-sharing announcement by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which saw the Chirag Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party (LJP Ram Vilas) receiving five seats. This decision sparked controversy and led Paras to step down, voicing dissatisfaction with how his party was accommodated in the alliance.

During his resignation announcement, Paras chose not to elaborate on his next steps but highlighted his discontent with the BJP’s approach, suggesting a perceived lack of fairness and respect for his party’s contributions to the NDA. This move has the potential to stir political dynamics in Bihar and beyond, reflecting underlying tensions within the coalition as it prepares for upcoming electoral challenges.
