Jeddah, August 23, 2023 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Permanent Representative (PR) in OIC, Ambassador Syed Fawwad Sher organised a programme under the auspices of OIC, Jeddah, to condemn the atrocities and illegal occupation of India in occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), today.
The programme was headed by OIC Assistant Secretary General and representatives of OIC member states. The Consul General of Pakistan Khalid Majid, the chairman Kashmir committee Jeddah Masood Puri and Assistant Secretary General OIC also addressed the event. The international community gathered on the occasion was also made to visit the exhibition of photos and pictures displayed to express and reveal the human rights violations including killings as a result of Indian forceful occupation of Kashmir.
APHC-AJK chapter leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Altaf Ahmed Butt also shared his video message on the occasion. In his message he said: Today, I stand before you as a firsthand victim of Indian forces and represent the besieged and oppressed people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
In the wake of the revocation of Kashmir’s special status on August 5, 2019, he said, the region has witnessed an unprecedented reign of terror unleashed by Modi led BJP govt through its one million occupation forces in IIOJK. “The destruction of more than 150 thousand structures has left a trail of devastation. Properties worth billions of rupees have been seized and are being confiscated on false charges deepening our economic woes. We cannot overlook the heart-wrenching statistics of 23000 fully widowed and half widowed women, 107,901 orphaned children, and 11,256 women who have been subjected to the most unspeakable horrors of gang-rape and molestation,” he said.
He urged OIC to encourage all Muslim countries to impress upon India to stop human rights violations in IIOJK, demilitarize the territory, and start the process of plebiscite as per UN resolutions.
