Islamabad: In a heartfelt visit to Asfandyar Bukhari District Hospital in Attock, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Barrister Daniyal Chaudhry met with police personnel injured during recent political protests, praising their discipline and resilience. The visit, which took place on Monday, highlighted the severe impact of the weekend’s violence involving a political party, during which 32 officers sustained injuries, with nine in critical condition.
According to Press Information Department, Chaudhry expressed admiration for the officers’ bravery, noting how they managed to maintain order despite facing brutal attacks. The incidents left many of the officers with severe injuries, including head trauma and broken limbs, a testament to the harsh conditions they endured while managing the protests. The Parliamentary Secretary’s engagement with the injured officers, including personal conversations about their experiences, underscored the gravity of the confrontation.
District Police Officer (DPO) Attock Sardar Ghias, who accompanied the parliamentary secretary, vowed that stringent legal actions are set to follow against those responsible for the violence. He also reassured that the injured are receiving comprehensive medical care as directed by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, affirming the government’s commitment to justice and support for law enforcement officials.
Chaudhary’s visit concluded with him presenting bouquets to the injured officers, conveying well wishes from the Prime Minister and affirming ongoing governmental support for their full recovery. Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Jawad confirmed that all injured personnel were receiving necessary medical attention and highlighted the discharge of those who had sustained minor injuries.
