Islamabad, June 21, 2021 (PPI-OT):Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser said that the Parliamentary exchanges and multilateral cooperation is imperative for regional development and economic prosperity. He welcomed the initiative of Azerbaijan for establishing Azerbaijan-Pakistan-Turkey Trilateral Parliamentary cooperation platform. The Speaker said that this platform will be initiation of a new era of close and cordial parliamentary linkages between the brotherly countries. He expressed these views in a telephonic conversation with the Speaker of Milli Majlis Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova, today.

Speaker Asad Qaiser said that enhancing Parliamentary cooperation between legislatures is the need of the hour and Parliamentary Friendship group could be an apt forum in this regard. Moreover, the Speaker underlined the need for closer cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan Inter-parliamentary relations for the development of political and economic relations between the two countries. He also expressed his gratitude for the participation of Azerbaijan parliamentary delegation headed by her Excellency in the recently concluded 2nd General Conference of the Parliamentary Assembly of Economic Cooperation Organization (PAECO). He said that Pakistan looks forward to arrange such Forums in order to enhance collaboration in diverse sectors.

While thanking the Speaker of Milli Majlis Azerbaijan for the invitation in the first meeting of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan-Turkey Trilateral Parliamentary cooperation platform, he ensured his full support for further strengthening parliamentary relations between brotherly countries.

Speaker of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova invited Speaker Asad Qaiser to participate in the first meeting of Azerbaijan-Pakistan-Turkey Trilateral Parliamentary cooperation platform. She said that Pakistan has always played its role in enhancing cordial relations with friendly countries. She was of the opinion that this platform will enhance economic cooperation that would give impetus to the existing bilateral relations through parliamentary and economic cooperation. She appreciated the role of Speaker Asad Qaiser for hosting the 2nd PAECO in Islamabad, she said that the success of PAECO was only due to the proactive role of Participating Parliamentary delegation of ECO member States.
