Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Reaffirms Support and Calls for Enhanced Global Advocacy


MUZAFFARABAD: The Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir convened for its 11th meeting in Muzaffarabad, focusing on advancing political, diplomatic, and moral support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. The meeting, led by Federal Minister Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, underscored Pakistan’s dedication to the Kashmir cause and called for intensified efforts to highlight the issue at both national and international levels.



Members of the committee, including Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Syed Javed Ali, participated virtually. The session also saw the attendance of key figures such as former Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan and Chief Secretary Khushhal Khan, among others.



The meeting included a comprehensive review of the progress on decisions from the previous session. Chief Secretary Khushhal Khan provided an update on Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s current political and socio-economic conditions.



The committee emphasized the importance of political and economic stability in the region, urging for the promotion of good governance and public welfare. It stressed the need for completing development projects that align with the residents’ needs.



Directions were also given for the timely completion of feasibility studies for airports in all three divisions of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, the committee instructed relevant departments to address the challenges faced by Jammu and Kashmir refugees in Pakistan.



In his concluding remarks, Chairman Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon called for national unity and urged all institutions to adopt effective strategies to amplify the Kashmiri people’s voice on international platforms.
