Paris, A webinar, orchestrated by the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum, France, was held in Paris on October 27, Black Day, bringing attention to what they term as Indian state terrorism in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to a news release by Kashmir Media Service, the online seminar hosted numerous distinguished speakers, including the Ambassador of Pakistan in France, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad; Mirza Asif Jarral, President of the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum, France; Ghazala Habib, Chairperson of Friends of Kashmir; and several other notable figures from various organizations.
Ambassador Asim Iftikhar, in his address, emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering dedication to the people of Kashmir, reiterating the commitment to bring to the fore the Kashmiri narrative on global platforms. He took the occasion to express gratitude towards the webinar’s participants.
Mirza Asif Jarral delineated the historical context for Black Day. According to Jarral, Kashmiris worldwide remember October 27 as the day when, in 1947, India initiated military action in Jammu and Kashmir, leading to what they term as an illegal occupation. He stated that this occupation marked the inception of severe human rights infringements, with Kashmiris enduring extensive deprivations, including the denial of their fundamental human rights. Jarral also accentuated India’s alleged defiance of UN Security Council resolutions pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the denied right to self-determination.
The webinar, enriched with insights from Hurriyat leaders such as Altaf Hussain Wani, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Shamim Shawl, Abdul Hameed Lone, among others, resonated with calls highlighting the purported adversities in IIOJK.
Mirza Asif Jaral chaired the event, which also witnessed the active participation of a considerable number of youths.
