Palestinian Death Toll Surpasses 8,000 Amidst Continued Israeli Attacks on Gaza

Gaza City, As Israeli forces persist with their airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, the number of Palestinians killed has crossed the eight-thousand mark, with almost half of the casualties being children.

According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, UN Human Rights Chief, Volker Turk, has issued a warning about the potentially devastating repercussions of extensive ground operations in the besieged region. Reports have emerged of vast destruction, with hundreds of buildings and homes completely annihilated and thousands more damaged during overnight operations by Israeli forces. In the midst of the chaos, many Gaza residents have forcibly entered warehouses and distribution centers of the United Nations Palestinian refugee agency, in desperate need of flour and other essential items for survival.

On another front, Saudi Defense Minister, Prince Khalid bin Salman, is scheduled to meet with senior US officials in Washington DC tomorrow.

In further grim news, Sunday marked the 23rd consecutive day of Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, resulting in the death of over one hundred and thirty Palestinians and injuries to dozens. The Palestinian news agency, WAFA, reported that Israeli warplanes targeted a six-story residential building in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood. Bombings also took place in the Al-Zaytoun, Al-Tuffah, and Shujaiya districts, with homes in the Jabalia refugee camp and a residential square in Bir al-Naja, north of the Gaza Strip, being destroyed. Airstrikes also affected the cities of Khan Yunis and Rafah.
