ISLAMABAD: Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan Nasar has highlighted the critical role of Pakistan’s youth in the nation’s development, asserting that providing them with meaningful opportunities is a shared national responsibility. Addressing the closing ceremony of the “Sufism and Culture” art exhibition at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) in Islamabad, Nasar emphasized the need for equitable access to education and skills development for the young population, which constitutes nearly 60 percent of the country’s demographic.

According to Senate of Pakistan, Nasar underscored the government’s initiatives aimed at empowering young people through employment opportunities, technical and vocational training, and facilitating their participation in national development. These efforts are intended to harness the youth’s potential, enabling them to contribute significantly to Pakistan’s economic and social progress.

Nasar also remarked on the importance of art, literature, culture, and Sufism in nurturing the intellectual and moral development of the youth. He praised Pakistan’s Sufi and cultural heritage for promoting values such as love, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence, which are crucial for societal harmony.

The Deputy Chairman Senate commended the artists Rumi and Aiman for their creative work, noting that their art serves as a bridge connecting the youth with their cultural and spiritual roots. He expressed confidence in the PNCA’s ongoing efforts to inspire positive thinking and creativity among young people. During the event, it was announced that 50 percent of the proceeds from the artwork sales would support charitable and welfare initiatives.
