Pakistan’s Top Military Brass Resolves to Combat Terrorism and Defend Sovereignty

Karachi, The top military brass of Pakistan, during the two-day long Corps Commanders’ Conference held in Rawalpindi, has resolved to confront all terrorists, their facilitators, and abettors with the full might of the state. This resolve is a direct response to the threats posed by hostile forces intent on destabilizing Pakistan.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the conference, chaired by Army Chief General Syed Asim, focused on several critical issues, including the current geo-strategic environment, challenges to national security, and Pakistan’s strategy in response to evolving threats. A significant concern raised was the sanctuaries and freedom of action available to terrorists, including those from proscribed groups like the TTP, in neighboring countries, as well as the access of these groups to advanced weaponry.

The forum paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Shuhadas, including officers and men of the Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies, and citizens, who have laid down their lives for the country’s peace and stability. Special remembrance was paid to the victims of the DI Khan attack.

The military commanders reaffirmed their commitment to defending Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against both direct and indirect threats. The forum also expressed grave concern over the ongoing repression and human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, unequivocally condemning the recent acts of abduction, torture, and killing of civilians by the Indian Army. The forum reiterated Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination in accordance with international law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

In addition, the forum expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine and condemned the human rights violations and war crimes occurring in Gaza, supporting an immediate ceasefire and a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

The forum also reviewed efforts to promote socio-economic growth and encourage foreign investment through the Special Investment Facilitation Council. It took a comprehensive look at ongoing actions against illegal economic activities such as smuggling, money laundering, power theft, and hoarding of essential items. The Pakistan Army affirmed its support for government institutions and Law Enforcement Agencies in curbing these crimes and pledged to extend necessary support to the Election Commission of Pakistan for the forthcoming general elections.

The forum was briefed on the operational preparedness of the formations, with the Army Chief emphasizing the need for maintaining operational excellence and high standards in training and motivation.

This conference highlights Pakistan’s military’s resolve to address both internal and external security challenges while also focusing on broader issues of economic stability and international diplomacy.
