Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have collectively extended their congratulations to Anura Kumara Dissanayake on his recent electoral victory as the President of Sri Lanka. The Pakistani leaders expressed optimism for strengthened bilateral ties and continued cooperation between the two nations.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari emphasized the deep mutual respect and robust cooperation that exists between Pakistan and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. He expressed hopes for even stronger bilateral relations under the leadership of the new Sri Lankan President. President Zardari also conveyed his wishes for the health and prosperity of both the leadership and the people of Sri Lanka.
Prime Minister Sharif took to social media platform X to share his best wishes, voicing his anticipation of working closely with President-elect Dissanayake to further enhance the relationship between the two countries. His message underscored a commitment to building on the existing friendly ties by exploring new areas of cooperation.
