Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the freedom, dignity, and prosperity of the Palestinian people, emphasizing it as a primary concern for the nation. According to a statement shared on his official social media account, Sharif highlighted that the establishment of a robust and viable Palestinian state, based on pre-1967 borders with Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital, remains central to Pakistan’s Middle East policy.
The Prime Minister underscored the urgent need for an immediate halt to what he described as a genocidal campaign in Gaza. He indicated that Pakistan, in conjunction with other supportive nations, has consistently highlighted this priority on international platforms.
In his message, Sharif also expressed gratitude to former U.S. President Donald Trump, acknowledging his role in addressing the situation in Gaza. He noted that Trump’s intervention was pivotal in halting the violence and reiterated Pakistan’s appreciation for what he termed as Trump’s unique contribution to peace efforts in the region.
