Islamabad, The Senate of Pakistan, represented by Secretary Senate, Mohammad Qasim Samad Khan, and Director General (Coordination) Senate, Mir Shai Mazar Baloch, participated in the Launch Session of the Indicators for Democratic Parliaments by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to democratic evolution.
According to the Senate of Pakistan, the virtual event featured a case study of Pakistan, where the Senate unveiled a comprehensive self-assessment study. This study not only demonstrated Pakistan’s dedication to introspection but also presented a 14-point action plan aimed at strengthening democratic institutions in the country. The plan emphasized the Senate’s commitment to progressive governance and inclusivity.
The session participants commended the Senate leadership of Pakistan for its forward-thinking approach. They recognized the importance of self-assessment in democratic systems as a means to identify and address challenges effectively.
