ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared that Pakistan will firmly respond to any acts of provocation, emphasizing the country’s unwavering stance on defense. In a statement released on Sunday, he praised the Armed Forces of Pakistan for their decisive actions in response to recent provocations originating from Afghanistan.
The Prime Minister specifically acknowledged the precise targeting of terrorist hideouts responsible for attacks on Pakistani soil. He paid tribute to the 23 security personnel who lost their lives in these operations, honoring their sacrifice and extending condolences to their families.
Sharif also expressed his hope for the swift recovery of those injured while combating terrorist threats. He commended the professional excellence of Pakistan’s military, asserting that the Army has consistently countered external aggression effectively.
Emphasizing national unity, the Prime Minister noted that the country stands firmly behind its security forces. He reiterated Pakistan’s ongoing efforts in intelligence sharing with Afghanistan and highlighted the presence of terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory.
Sharif called on the Afghan interim government to prevent its land from being used by elements hostile to Pakistan, underscoring the expectation of cooperation in regional security efforts.
