Pakistan’s Prime Minister Reaffirms Strong Commitment to CPEC

Islamabad, In a recent meeting with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to the success of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during the meeting held in Islamabad, Prime Minister Kakar emphasized the importance of close collaboration between Pakistan and China for the timely completion of ongoing CPEC projects. He warmly welcomed the Chinese Vice Foreign Minister and his delegation, acknowledging the deep and strategic cooperative partnership between the two nations.

The Prime Minister reflected on his visit to Beijing for the 3rd Belt and Road Forum in October 2023, expressing gratitude for the warm sentiments extended by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang towards Pakistan. He also conveyed his best wishes to the Chinese leadership.

The discussion also encompassed the regional situation, highlighting the broader context of Pakistan-China relations. Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong thanked the Prime Minister for the meeting and shared insights from various discussions held during his visit. He conveyed special greetings from the Chinese leadership to the Prime Minister and reiterated the strong bond between China and Pakistan, referring to the two countries as “iron-brothers.” Sun assured China’s continued support for Pakistan’s socio-economic progress.
