Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep concern over what he described as the international community’s silence on the situation in Palestine, specifically citing recent actions by Israel.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a meeting with parliamentary representatives from coalition parties in Islamabad this evening, Prime Minister Sharif condemned the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. He criticized Israel for what he claimed were violations of United Nations Security Council resolutions and decisions by the International Court of Justice, which he noted had labeled the actions in Palestine as genocide.
The Prime Minister described the challenge of preventing further violence in the region as significant for the modern world and acknowledged the nations that have condemned the actions in Gaza.
