Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to empowering the youth of Pakistan through transformative initiatives. Addressing the Commonwealth Asia Youth Alliance (CAYA) Summit, he emphasized the role of young people, who constitute over 60% of the Commonwealth population, in shaping a peaceful, progressive, and prosperous future.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister highlighted the flagship “Youth Programme,” which has positively impacted millions across Pakistan, not just in Punjab. He underscored the importance of providing modern technology and training to the youth to enhance their potential.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to the Commonwealth as a founding member and noted the significance of the Commonwealth Asia Youth Alliance in building consensus and partnerships amid global challenges. He stressed the necessity of creating platforms and opportunities for the youth to contribute actively to national development and policymaking.
The Prime Minister also pointed out specific programs like the “Punjab Education Endowment Fund” and the expansion of “Daanish Schools” to various regions. He highlighted the distribution of laptops to high achievers under the Youth Programme.
In his concluding remarks, the Prime Minister encouraged the youth to dream ambitiously, act courageously, and work diligently. He described the youth as pioneers of the future, capable of unlocking opportunities for Pakistan’s prosperity. The event also saw the Prime Minister administering the oath to the newly elected National Youth Council and distributing awards to high achievers.
