Islamabad, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, addressing the Envoys’ Conference in Islamabad, emphasized the need for a progressive and economically driven foreign policy for Pakistan. He underscored the importance of aligning the country’s foreign policy with current global imperatives to enhance the socio-economic well-being of its people.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Kakar outlined his vision for Pakistan’s foreign policy, advocating for a strategy that focuses on global peace and mutually beneficial relationships. He stressed the importance of adhering to international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter, as well as mainstreaming economic diplomacy and supporting the Palestinian cause.
Further emphasizing Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to the Jammu and Kashmir cause, the Prime Minister reiterated the country’s position in seeking a resolution in line with the United Nations Security Council’s resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
The Conference was described by the Prime Minister as both timely and relevant, considering the significant changes occurring globally and regionally. He expressed confidence in Pakistan’s diplomatic corps, stating his trust in their ability to effectively navigate through the current challenges facing the nation’s foreign policy.
The Prime Minister concluded by expressing his hope that the Conference’s deliberations would yield practical suggestions to steer Pakistan’s foreign policy in the right direction amidst the present-day global landscape.
