Islamabad, Muhammad Sami Saeed, Pakistan’s Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to steering the country towards a sustainable and resilient future. This statement was made during a meeting in Islamabad focusing on the Public Investment Management Assessment (PIMA) and Climate-PIMA, along with a suggested action plan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, reported that the meeting involved a detailed briefing on PIMA and Climate-PIMA, highlighting the significance of integrating climate considerations into all development projects. The Planning Minister urged stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of public investments by improving procedures and financing mechanisms. He emphasized the need to align the entire project cycle with the emerging economic challenges and boost economic growth through strategic investments. The Minister also highlighted the importance of improving project appraisal and evaluation processes, demonstrating the government’s dedication to a holistic approach in addressing the country’s developmental and environmental challenges.
